colonial heritage
- Starting in Jakarta you make your way to Bogor via the Puncak Pass, the location of one of the first colonial tea plantations. A mountainous road takes you passing far stretched tea plantations, rice fields and villages to the ‘Paris of Java’, Bandung. Stroll around the city to see the grandiose Art Deco buildings and historical important houses. Beautiful train rides through stunning landscapes take you to East Java where you can sleep on colonial tea plantations and explore the historical city of Malang with its broad lanes, lots of trees and beautiful houses.

WONDERS OF NATURE
- Visit two of Java’s most beautiful volcanoes: The Bromo and the Ijen. Very different from each other, but equally majestic. From the highest village in Java you will descend and drive through an amazing landscape surrounding Mount Bromo made of fields of herbs and a sea of sand. The Ijen volcano is a very active volcano with a crater lake. Sulphur is forced to the surface and the bright yellow solidified sulphur rocks are taken daily by carriers to a certain point where the rocks are weighed and the carrier paid according to the amount of sulphur taken. Views are spectacular

CULTURE ABUNDANT
- A visit to Java’s most beautiful and famous Buddhist and Hindu temples, the Borobudur and Prambanan, can not be passed. These impressive world heritage sights are closely located to one of Indonesia’s most enjoyable cities: Yogyakarta. It has a lot to offer, like the sultans palace, the batik- and silver factories, musea etc. The atmosphere in Central Java is wonderful, mystical and traditional.

THE GREEN EAST
- East Java is covered with beautiful plantations of rubber, coffee and cocoa trees, a healthy primary forest as well as a thick tropical rainforest. The forests are beautiful, views amazing and often you encounter wild animals such as black monkeys, hornbills and other birds. In the national park you can go to a beach where it is forbidden to swim, but it is a beautiful white sandy beach, suitable for a picnic lunch. See big sea turtles moving slowly from the water to the beach to lay their eggs: a spectacular experience.
- From the most eastern part of Java you can either cross over to Bali by ferry or drive to Surabaya for your flight to your next destination.
